Wow, it has been a very busy last two weeks. My mom has been thinking about selling her house and downsizing for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger. She contacted Shane from Platinum Team: RE/MAX River City to list her house. I have to tell you if you are in the Edmonton area and looking for a realtor for buying or selling Shane is the guy you need to call. This is the second time we have had Shane sell a house for us. He is friendly, hard working, super attentive and truly amazing. Thank you Shane for helping with the sale!
I have a lot of things I want to post and catch up on so stay tuned over the next few days.

Winter Photography

Being a photographer in Edmonton has its challenges in the winter. For one thing it is very cold so being outside photographing can be challenging. Also with lots of overcast days, snow, ice and sand (to help cars from sliding around) it can often be hard to find much color.
I think these couple photos captured some color on a particularly mild winter day.

Of course about a half hour later and things were much colder with an overcast sky not allowing much color to pop. When things turn drab what better thing to do than black and white!

At least the days are starting to get longer again and there is more sun and mild weather lately. Perfect for taking the kids tobogganing!

Walsh – Family Session

Last summer I did a photoshoot that included 3 generations of family. We shot the formal group pictures and afterwards I was invited to join them for their family picnic. It was an awesome experience and such a wonderful event to be part of.
A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to do another session for the Walsh family to mark the 1 and 3 year birthdays of their children. Upon arriving at my studio in Edmonton William (3) promptly notified me that Santa had brought him a bailer for Christmas. It was so cool to see the sparkle in his eyes as he talked about this with such pride, and even cooler that he could not wait to tell me about it!
Here are a few of my favorites from their session.
William is a sharing, warm, and funny person. He even volunteered to share his snacks with me!

Mackenzie (1) is a sweetheart with a smile that can melt your heart and eyes that light up a room.

It was wonderful working with the Walsh family; we all had so much fun that before we knew it the session was over.

Korsan Studios – development nearing completion

So it has been a slow process but I finally have the main flash site ready korsanstudios.com. The work on this blogsite is nearing completion as well. I am still in the process of getting the portfolio galleries up on this part of the site but for now you can view my portfolio at korsanstudios.com. I am thinking I will have the 2 sites in tandem but will be updating content here more frequently. A lot of places block flash based sites so I wanted to make sure that I had my bases covered. Plus the Client Galleries do not exist here and I am not even sure that I will incorporate them in the blog section. So if you are a client with a recent online gallery it can be viewed at korsanstudios.com and click on the Client Proofing section and enter your username and password. Just remember that it is case sensitive!
More to come.
