Interesting Deviation

I was walking around downtown Edmonton a week ago and this little Volkswagon caught my eye. In the springtime the color palette around here is mainly browns, greys and generally muddy but this little car was a nice clean bright white with a red roof.

Spring Interestingness

So I think that spring has finally began to emerege again so I went out for a walk camera in hand to see what kind of interesting things I could find downtown. As I wandered the streets and alleys some water pipes along a brick building caught my eye. I just love the texture and color of these.

I then noticed that one alley had a building with one of its windows smashed out and the curtains were hanging out. Just around the corner from that were a pair of shoes neatly placed along another brick wall. I did not place the shoes for the shot, there was no way I was going to touch some random shoes in an alley ick. I find it abcolutely amazing what you can discover just wandering the streets.

Parkour – the physical discipline of training to overcome any obstacle within one’s path by adapting one’s movements to the environment.
I recently had the opportunity to do a little action photography with Kris in downtown Edmonton. Kris braved the cold as it was about -3 outside and he was required to grab and hold on to some pretty cold concrete and metal. I love the challenge of location photography and it was even more challenging with a moving target! I had so much fun shooting these sequences and Kris was awesome to work with. He performed repeatedly so that we could capture some amazing photos. I was cool to watch how gracefully Kris could navigate and make everything appear effortless. I can’t wait to do it again. Kris on the other hand might prefer to vernture out on a warmer day next time but like I said he was a true sport.
