Tobogganing and hot chocolate
0 Comments - leave comment | Posted by Sean in Family, Misc, Personal, Photography
While playing inside this morning the boys noticed some people tobogganing on the hill out back. Right away Brandon asked if they could go “bogganing”. I asked them if they would like to go out before lunch and Owen added “yeah we can go bogganing, have lunch and then hot chocolate because it’s cold outside”, ha ha. They were so excited that it was no longer Siberia like temperatures and we could get out to enjoy some fresh winter air, and I have to admit the idea of tobogganing sounded sweet!
I did not get any pictures of the actual tobogganing because I was riding the sled with them but I did catch them enjoying the warm cup of mini marshmallow infused cocoa.

Of course Brandon loves showing off his moustache, maybe he could “grow” one of these bad boys next Movember.

I hope you all were able to get outside this weekend and enjoy some beautiful Alberta winter weather!

It might have taken 2 months to get caught up enough to share this but I think it is totally worth the wait… I photographed Tabitha and Pierre’s wedding about a year and a half ago and it is awesome to be able to photograph the newest edition of their family! Congratulations guys!
I love how little baby feet and hands look.

Dude, is that a smile there? You bet he is happy, he is hanging with mom.

Of course hanging with dad is pretty awesome too!

Christmas Snapshots

I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas! I thought that I would take a moment to share some of my favourite snapshots from Christmas day, it was a crazy hectic day that saw us start opening gifts at about 6:00am and wrapping the day up around midnight…
Lately Owen has been giving this look when he wears his glasses, he pulls them down and peeks over the top, too cute!

Brandon has also been rocking a look of his own lately, albeit a little sassy!

We did manage to get a couple serious ones out of them though.

Santa even remembered to bring something for Kosmo, the boys thought that was great!

A big hit for the boys was a craft table that they got, they absolutely love doing arts and crafts. I secretly, well I guess not so secret now, wish that I had one of these bad boys when I was a kid.

A little later Owen got even more creative with one of the seats from the craft table. It became his surf board and he was pretenting to paddle out to catch a wave. Lets hope he does not get any crazy ideas about heading to Mavericks in California or Jaws in Hawaii

Of course after a big morning Brandon took a much needed rest to recharge himself for his um evening performance…

Now that he was all rested up he was ready to put on a performance, and what a performer he was!

A turkey family photo tradition…

Toss in a self portrait for good measure.

This must have been a pretty intense moment in Cars 2… I just liked how Aunty D and Uncle Jim sat on the tiny benches with the boys ![]()

And Aunty Claudette should know better than to make silly faces at the camera, that kind of thing will land you on the old blog! ha ha.

Happy Holidays, I hope you all have a fantasic new year!

Edmonton Engagement – Kristine + Kevin

At the start of October I met up with Kristine and Kevin to take some engagement photos with the added twist of also doing some family shots including their two beautiful girls. In case you are wondering, the beautiful girls happen to be a couple of super energetic dogs.

But this session was not just about the dogs, we made sure to capture some great stuff of Kristine and Kevin too!

It was a pretty adventurous session too! Kristine, Kevin, and the “girls” braved the edge of the river bank which was actually quite slippery and the girls were itching to go for a swim. They also climbed up into the trees as well!

I absolutely loved the light we found under this bridge. I could have shot here the whole time, if it wasn’t for the insanely steep hill we were standing on!

After climbing said insanely steep hill we found a nice little spot where Kristine and Kevin could sit. I have no idea what they were talking about but from the expression on Kristine’s face I imagine they were planning the next shot.

These two know how to have a great time and I think it really shows in their photos. The silly one:

One last one, tall grass + cuddles = FUN!

Thank you guys for spending the afternoon with us and for bringing the “girls” this was truly a unique way to celebrate your engagement. Now if only you could bring the girls to the beach for the wedding

- 1. Happening by accident or chance rather than design.
- 2. Happening by a lucky chance; fortunate.
I thought that Fortuitous Friday had a better ring to it that Random Friday…
What better way to start the weekend than to share some pretty pictures that happened to be taken during some important outings over this past summer. It is also a great time to reflect on this past summer as we head further into fall and colder weather.
There was a typewriter in one of the rail cars that the kids loved. They recognized right away the “keyboard” layout but wondered where the rest of the “computer” was.

Number 5, my personal fav number, from a mailbag that was in one of the mail cars.

Many a hot day this summer was spent making/blowing bubbles and having ice cream on the driveway. What better way to spend a hot summer day that making bubbles and eating ice cream?

Crazy about a mercury… at the Praire Garden & Adventure Farm. This place was lots of fun and there was so much to see and do, we could have went several times this summer if we had more time…

The Praire Gardens had a pirate theme throughout a lot of it, so of course they needed to have their own parrot, at least I think it is a parrot of sorts ![]()

Rain covered roses, with all the rain that we had this summer it was not hard to find these!

3 tree “finger print” mural… that is now a grey painted wall… It is unfortunate that some graffiti cannot be left up.

So long summer, we had a blast and will miss you but we will see ya next year!
Happy Friday everyone!
I was asked by a friend if I would be interested in photographing a Fundraising golf tournament. When I was told it was for a 6 year old who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy I was honored to have the opportunity to help out. This was the 3rd Annual Pyper Pro AM and was hosted at the Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club.

After a little warm up the golfing got underway.

It was a gorgeous fall day at the Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club

This is such a beautiful golf course, the views all around were simply stunning!

I love these pants, you think Angela would be caught in public with me if I wore them?

As the sun got low and the golf neared the end I was a little sad to see the day go…

I had such a great time, the day was filled with competition, camaraderie, hope, and emotion, and generosity!

Edmonton Wedding – Brett + Darcy

Brett and Darcy exchanged vows on a beautiful fall day in the Protection of the blessed Virgin Mary church and it is gorgeous inside!

The guys kept things loose outside anxiously awaiting the arrival of Brett and the girls

I love this shot of Darcy’s mom putting his boutonniere on, the flowers from Floral Studio at Holes were amazing.

Time for dad’s boutonniere. I love the pin technique, kind of looks familiar right.

Once the girls arrived Darcy ducked inside and took his place awaiting the arrival of Brett.

By the expression on his face I would say he was speechless upon seeing Brett for the first time!

They each wore a crown for part of the ceremony that needed a little help from the Best Man and Maid of Honour to stay in place. Kudos to those two because for about 30 minutes or so they had their arms up in the air holding them in place. My arms almost fell asleep just thinking about it!

I love the looks couples exchange during their ceremony, especially if they have not done a first look prior to the ceremony. This is the first chance they have to take in all the details of each other, almost like meeting each other for the first time all over again.

One thing is for sure, they know how to have fun, seriously the wedding party were cracking each other up all day!

Back to a few more serious photos.

I love the Black & White in these two!

Brett’s rings were actually made up of 3 rings that stacked together surrounding the engagement ring, very cool but very hard to get them to stand up!

Brett and Darcy had our photo booth at their wedding, check out some of the fun that was had at their booth.
Congratulations Brett & Darcy, we had a great time spending the day with you guys. Everything about the day was amazing, we were touched by the words your friends and family shared with you and about you guys. It was a very special day indeed with lots of laughter and sentiment.

Brandon’s First Two Wheeler!
0 Comments - leave comment | Posted by Sean in Family, Personal, Photography
Brandon got a big kid bike for his 3rd birthday, his first two wheel bicycle. He was super excited because now he had a big boy bike just like Owen’s and wanted to ride it right away. He did a “lap” in the living room, just like Owen did when he got his bike but of course you have to go outside to do any real riding!

Brandon needed a little help figuring out the pedals, of course grandma K was very helpful in showing Brandon how to push with his feet.

Once he got the lesson in how to pedal he laid tracks with his pants on backwards and Owen in pursuit!

Of course Owen has a little more practice than Brandon riding a two wheeler so he has started standing to pedal faster and has incorporated some stunt riding.

With more experience Owen soon took the lead, but Brandon dug down and gave it his all so that he could keep up, with a little push from mom of course!
Like any young protege Brandon did not take long to figure out how to do a little stunting of his own. Check out my two Evil Kenevils ![]()

After a long ride and the odd crash Brandon needed a little extra encouragement from Owen to make it home, again. Brothers are the best hey!

This year Angela planted a vegetable garden for the first time and I have to say it was awesome! We had lots of fresh veggies all summer long. She also planted sunflowers early in the year and while they did grow super duper tall, they did not flower until just recently. She was worried, and so was I for the kids sake
, that they would not flower at all this year.
I think they turned out amazing!

Happy 3rd Birthday Brandon

Today Brandon turns 3 years old, Happy Birthday Brandon! We wanted to take some pictures to mark another milestone for Brandon, it has sort of become a tradition of ours and we did a studio shoot for Owen’s 4th birthday. We started off at the Enjoy Centre in St. Albert but it was pretty busy inside and there was not much to work with outside, well at least not much where we could convince Brandon to sit still long enough to compose a shot. There was just too much room to roam.
This was my favorite shot from the Enjoy Centre, Brandon recently got these pair of boots that he is so proud of and loves wearing.

Next up was a quick stop at the Grain Elevator park in St. Albert. This place was awesome, we got a quick tour of a grain elevator that was built in the early 1900′s. It was pretty amazing to see and even Brandon was pretty interested in what the guide had to say! Of course walking around all the farm equipment Brandon noticed all the bugs and cobwebs and needed a little extra reassurance from mom, nothing a little hand holding could not help. Brandon loves holding mommy or daddy’s hand right now, so cool.

After the Enjoy Centre and Grain Elevator Park we headed into Red Willow Park also hoping to find something to keep Brandon occupied so I could sneek some photos. You see when you are 3 and you have an older brother who is 4 there is no way you can sit for a moment, you have got to make the most of your time… Luckily we found some trees that Brandon liked leaning on and peeking through to see what mom, dad, aunty, and brother Owen were up to! Cross the straight shot off the list. I give you the many faces of Brandon at 3.

Brandon has really grown into quite the little man, um I mean big man, these last few months. He uses words a lot more to express his feelings, he shares more with his friends, and he loves telling stories that can go on and on. He has such an amazing imagination!

And of course lets not forget his best friend in the whole world right now. Brandon loves to play dress up and role play and act out all kinds of things, and who better to share this with than his older brother Owen!

Check out Angela’s post for more pictures and details about Brandon at 3.
